On a mission to make and grow disciples

Introducing Will Bell

I recently joined Harper Church as a Ministry Trainee, while studying Biblical interpretation and preaching at Cornhill Scotland.  Before coming to Harper,  I spent sixteen years working at the forefront of experimental particle physics research at the Tevatron Collider in the USA and latterly at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) at CERN in Geneva.  I was responsible for the first physics publication of the ATLAS collaboration at the LHC and I worked on several other papers that test our understanding of the physical Universe.  After a long period of thought and prayer, I have recently moved from Geneva to Glasgow with my wife Lorraine and our three sons, Nathan, Caleb and Samuel.  I will be attending the full-time Cornhill Biblical interpretation and preaching training course alongside my role at Harper.

I came to Christ while living in Wheaton in the USA and working for Argonne National Laboratory.  After reading the Bible from cover to cover and being convinced of its truth, I started to proclaim the gospel at every available venue.  When I left Wheaton I joined St Silas church in Glasgow, where I met and married Lorraine.  From the University of Glasgow, I went on to work at the University of Geneva and was involved in both French and English speaking churches in the Geneva area.  I am committed to preaching the Bible with the utmost accuracy and honesty.  It is for this reason that I have joined the Cornhill course and serve at Harper.  I'm looking forward to all that the Lord will do this year.
