On a mission to make and grow disciples

New Youth and Children's Pastor at Harper

Posted by Alan Mcknight on October 10, 2014

Harper Church has just called Carl Robinson to come and join the team and serve as Youth and Children’s Pastor at the Church. There are 1000 children and young people in our immediate area who need to hear the good news of Jesus Christ and we want to do all we can to share the gospel with them. As well as this mission aspect of the role, Carl will also be responsible for leading and developing the youth and children’s work within the church.
When we asked Carl, who comes from Liverpool, how he was feeling about the move to Glasgow he said, “This is sound kid, movin to Glasgow will be boss. The people are sick!”  Which roughly translated means, “We are so happy and are really looking forward to moving to Glasgow, especially to live with the people at Harper.”
Carl will join us along with his wife Sarah and their three kids, Phoebe, Joel and Caleb. He said, “We are massively moved and encouraged by the church vote and can't wait to see the plans God has for the work in Glasgow. One of the big reasons we feel this is the right step is how we have been loved and welcomed when we visited Harper. It will be exciting getting to know people really well and serving God together.  God has really guided us over these past months and when I spoke at Harper on Acts 25 & 26 "Rise and get up on your feet" Gods word really challenged ME directly. Am I going to stand up or just stay in the sand? “
As a church we are thrilled at what the Lord is doing among us and are looking forward to Carl and Sarah and the kids joining us so that we can rise up together and make and grow young disciples of Jesus, seeing lives changed, around our doors, in our city and across our nation.
Carl will begin his new role at Harper in early January 2015.
