On a mission to make and grow disciples

Reaching Lost People - Conference 2014

Posted by Alan Mcknight on November 21, 2014

Earlier this month we had our annual Church Conference where we gather as a fellowship and reflect on what we are trying to achieve as a church and to review progress made. This year has been a year of change and transformation which has included:
  • Setting up a Community Interest Company called Harper Community Initiatives
  • Taking over and operating a local café called ‘Kinning Perk’ as a community hub
  • Establishing English classes among immigrant groups
  • Building relationships with local mosques
  • Serving the community through things like IT classes, crafts classes
  • Recruiting a new Youth and Children’s Pastor who will start work with us in early January
  • Refreshing our pastoral care strategy

It’s been a busy year, but this is only the start! Mez McConnell, Pastor of Niddrie Community Church joined us at our conference and we asked him to consider the question, “How do we implement a vision for reaching lost people in Glasgow?”

You can find out how he answered that question by following this four part blog series:

At Harper, we want to be together on a mission to make and grow disciples of Jesus, seeing lives changed, around our doors, in our city, across our nation and all over God’s world. Why not come and join us?
